I want to share a really nice resource on the Adobe site called The Adobe cookbook. Find, share, and comment on code with the developer community. It basically covers most of their apps. Although still in the startup stage, there’s really a lot of helpful code snippets. So head over and start creating some snippets.

2009 – The year of Flash Advertising

To support my prediction for Flash in 2009, I’d like to make the argument that while Flash Platform has become a proven Application platform, Flash Player is being used mostly for other purposes. I’d like to review my assumptions on Flash Player usage, and show why, along with the recent key improvements in Flash, this year is poised to be the year of Flash Advertising.

Current Use of Flash

60% as a Video Player (youtube, vimeo)

20% as an Ad vehicle (banners, point of sale, point of contact)

10% as a gaming engine (web and mobile)

5% as widgets (blog sidebar, myspace)

5% as an application engine (external and internal apps)

Google learns to crawl Flash

Google has been developing a new algorithm for indexing textual content in Flash files of all kinds, from Flash menus, buttons and banners, to self-contained Flash websites. Recently, they’ve improved the performance of this Flash indexing algorithm by integrating Adobe’s Flash Player technology.

In the past, web designers faced challenges if they chose to develop a site in Flash because the content they included was not indexable by search engines. They needed to make extra effort to ensure that their content was also presented in another way that search engines could find.

My very wide view on designing for web 2.0

In my current role as interaction designer, I also get the opportunity to think and plan about current web trends. A very hot topic in my office and well most web design magazines not to mention the endless amounts of blog posts that iv’e read is WEB 2.0

Some people think of web 2.0 as Ajax,some would shout out loud IT’S FLASH !!!!,   I although prefer to call it POWER TO THE PEOPLE !!!
