Flash Mobile 10
Adobe stated during a recent earnings announcement that a beta of Flash Mobile 10 will be released in October, optimized for Android, Symbian, Palm Web OS, and Windows Mobile phones. Despite one conspicuous absence, that’s somewhat good news for many.
That notable absence is, of course, Apple’s iPhone. Adobe has previously let it be known they’re developing an iPhone version, and were ready to work with Apple, but those talks apparently haven’t borne even the most vague launch plans to date.
In the meantime, it’ll be interesting to see how the various mobile operating systems optimize and present Flash on their browsers—and what that does to the small but burgeoning realm of mobile-optimized apps. Will web developers forgo mobile-friendly sites entirely once the last serious barrier to full-page viewing is set aside? Or could mobile Flash access open up an entirely new development platform for the mobile web? Stay tuned for more announcements down the line, and check out Adobe’s earnings presentation at slide 13 to read more on what happens this fall.

Desktop VS Web
I found this on the Adobe site and thought it would be nice to share with web developers thinking of delivering their applications to desktops. As widgets become more and more popular, it’s definately something to think about for future developments. A very nice comparison chart by Adobe will make your realise about the differences in development for web and desktops.
The Adobe® AIR™ runtime complements the browser by providing the same application development and deployment benefits while adding desktop integration, local data access, and enhanced branding opportunities. An emerging design pattern for rich Internet applications (RIAs) is to deliver a browser-based version of an RIA in the browser for all users and an RIA on the desktop for more active users. Send Free SMS Online With Chawt
I’ve came across free SMS services from time to time, but most of them either don’t work for me or the free service is only applicable to specific region only. Chawt, on the other end here, works just fine! And I have to tell you, it’s really hard to find a free online SMS sending services nowadays.
This free SMS sending services requires you to sign up, and activate the account with your cell phone. Just paste the code sent to your phone on the form, activate it and you are good to go. I’ve tested and my friends received them. The only drawbacks is the fact that every messages come attached with a line of advertisement. Well, for something free I wouldn’t complain too much.
